I am committed to eradicating language deprivation, transforming the sign language interpreting industry, and having Deaf leadership be recognized in the world.
Language Access
Lack of early language exposure is language deprivation, which has long-term consequences for a deaf individual's overall cognitive development, mental health, and quality of life. Deaf children are the most at-risk population. Language deprivation can affect various aspects of life, including educational attainment, employment opportunities, social relationships, and mental health. Together we can end language deprivation.
Leadership in the Sign Language Interpreting Industry
I am a leader in the Professional Sign Language Interpreter Industry. I previously served on the Board of Directors for the Potomac Chapter of RID as Community Relations, Vice President, and President (7 years of service). I recently completed a three year term in the role of Member-At-Large at the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, serving as the Member Section Leaders' Representative.
Deaf Leadership in the World
I stand for Deaf leadership being realized in the world. As a Coda and someone who often works with Deaf Professionals, I see how much the world is missing from the Deaf community. When Deaf leadership, engagement, and perspectives are a recognized contribution, society becomes more inclusive, diverse, and equitable, fostering a truly empowered and enriched community for all.
A World That Works for Everyone
I care about building a world that actually works for people—not as some fantasy, but as a practical direction for how I live and work. It shapes how I make decisions, how I lead, and how I show up for others.
It means choosing honesty over comfort, purpose over autopilot, and integrity over optics. When people feel that kind of leadership, they don’t just get by — they step into who they really are.
Real change happens when we stop waiting for permission and start living like the world we want is already possible.
